About View From Here is a producing collective which celebrates the rich seam of playwriting talent that runs through all regions of the UK. Our work so far has been a series of regional festivals, each presenting a selection of new-writing, from short plays to extracts of full-length productions, that showcases the best each region has to offer, and presents emerging and established playwrights side by side, in association with Theatre503. We have partnered with West Yorkshire Playhouse, Playwrights’ Studio Scotland and Tinderbox to find the best work from each region. Following three highly successful festivals in August 2016, April 2017 and February 2018, we are now pursuing opportunities to develop and producer full stage plays. Work doesn’t have to be new for us to produce it, but it does have to be new to London. View From Here Theatre amplifies voices underrepresented in UK theatre and shares untold stories from across the country in response to current issues. Within the context of Brexit, we are keen to produce work from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales and use London as a platform for that work. We look for plays to produce that can keep London looking outward, engaging with areas, themes and stories that can strike a chord with Londoners as well as UK audiences. Most recently, we will be working with Northern Irish playwright Alice Malseed to produce her play Jade City at VAULT Festival 2019.
